All it took was watching the tail fins of fish – except that we couldn't keep up with them because our traditional fins took too much effort. Using hard kicking paddle fins can result in leg strain, fatigue and cramping. Because of the kick resistance of a paddle fin, divers often “felt” like they were moving fast. But underwater speedometers proved that these divers were actually moving relatively slow. SplitFins deliver more propulsion with less drag and kick with less effort. Reducing the stress and strain of the kick results in greater sustained speed, power and comfort. Independent testing has also confirmed that the SplitFin design significantly reduces air consumption. Splitfins come in a variety of shapes, sizes and stiffness. These contribute greatly to overall comfort and performance. A fin with short, soft blades will kick easier than a longer, stiffer one, but will require many more kicks to travel the same distance. A blade that is too stiff will require too much effort to kick comfortably. The Atomic SplitFins were specifically designed to optimize all these variables.       Atomic split fin

      The Atomic Split fin performed well. I had frequent leg cramps with my old fins, NONE with the split fin design. Love the spring straps!!

      These are great fins. I used to get sore ankles with the lesser quality fins I used to have. With these I can go full speed all day and not feel a thing.

      Excellent fins comfortable and feel good to use, but from what I am today may not be the best if in strong currents.

      Great quality fins. I really like the straps. I read alot of reviews as far as the performance, but I think alot of that is personal taste. I just trust Atomic for good quality products that are not going to fail when I need them.

      Granted, I'm no expert SCUBA diver, but I really like these fins, especially the innovative straps, which make putting on and slipping off the fins extremely easy, almost effortless. Great quality, which I continue to find with all products that I've purchased from Atomic Aquatics. Highly recommended.
