Ease of use is entirely due to the exclusive discs that form the center of the spool: the discs are static while the spool is spinning and the line is unwound. As a result, the coil does not slip out of your hands during unrolling, which can happen with normal coils. You have more grip while releasing line. You can put more tension on the line by squeezing the discs together, which produces a braking effect. The spool is made of strong fiberglass reinforced injection molded nylon and has a stainless steel shaft and screws. You can simply click the coil onto a bolt snap.
