  • SCUBA Explorers

    The mission of Scuba Explorers is simple: To involve children in SCUBA diving so they can experience the excitement of water exploration! The first certification of the Explorer series, this course will take SCUBA Explorers from the classroom to the pool in a safe, engaging, and energetic environment.

  • SCUBA Explorers Boat

    For certified SCUBA Explorers, students will learn how to identify at least three types of dive boats and how they differ from each other, plan and manage a boat dive trip using a Boat Checklist procedure. In the pool, Explorers will practice simulated boat dives!

    For certified SCUBA Explorers, our students will observe an open water experience and witness an open water class in action. In addition, we Explorers will learn about how to care for our dive sites and why that is important, and we will then put skills into action by conducting a dive site clean-up to help ensure our community has a safe and enjoyable dive site to explore and enjoy.

  • SCUBA Explorers Enriched Air Nitrox

    For certified SCUBA Explorers, this program teaches you the information students need to make educated decisions about diving with Nitrox, including calculating adjusted bottom times, maximum depths, and correct surface intervals depending on the Nitrox mixture used.

  • SCUBA Explorers Marine Ecology

    For certified SCUBA Explorers, students will learn to identify characteristics, behaviors, and habitat of many species of marine animals including mammals, fish, sharks and rays, corals, sponges, and more. They will then explore our own simulated underwater reef to get an idea of what kinds of wonders are awaiting us underwater!

    For certified SCUBA Explorers, the Navigation class will instruct students on the use of different compasses underwater as well as using natural navigation to stay on the right path!

  • SCUBA Explorers Night & Limited Visibility

    For certified SCUBA Explorers, Night and Limited Visibility Explorers will learn about how the ocean changes at night and what kinds of equipment and skills divers use after the sun goes down. We will explore the world of bioluminescence and learn how to use UV lights on our simulated reef during our night dive experience.

    For certified SCUBA Explorers, the Perfect Buoyancy specialty certification will help students master breathing, weighting, and inflation techniques while also streamlining their SCUBA equipment. Perfecting buoyancy can help Explorers extend their pool bottom times by not wasting air and feel more confident underwater by being in control of their equipment at all times.

    For certified SCUBA Explorers, students will learn to identify an emergency situation, learn to initiate the rescue chain, and practice the duties of each member of the chain. They will learn the additional steps involved when the emergency involves a diving accident, and how to include the Divers Alert Network.

    For certified SCUBA Explorers, students will learn all the skills needed to safely and confidently conduct search and recovery dives. Students will be taught how to use search patterns, specialized dive plans, and equipment such as lift bags, lines, and reels.
