SSI Scuba Explorers - Boat
A continuation of the SCUBA Explorer program: Scuba diving opens up a part of the world that few get to explore, and boat diving opens it up even further by taking us to places that we cannot get to from shore. These places can include reefs and reef walls, deep diving opportunities, and remote locations. Boat diving skills will be useful as our young divers begin to explore the ocean, away from the shore!
What To Do Before Class:
Participants must have already completed the introductory, three day SSI Scuba Explorers Program. All waivers must be signed and there must be a current parent or guardian-signed waiver on file.
If it has been close or at least one year since last completed, please update the Diver Medical / Participant Questionnaire at: https://dolphinscuba.com/content/pdf/downloadable-forms/RSTC_MEDICAL_FORM.pdf
What to Expect In Class
The classroom session where students will learn about different kinds of dive boats, discuss boat diving techniques, and learn to plan for a boat dive.
The classroom session will then be followed by an in-pool dive session where students will learn to manage equipment on a real boat in our pool, practice safety procedures specific to boat trips, and how to safely and effectively enter and exit the water while diving from a boat.
