SSI Scuba Explorers - Perfect Buoyancy

A continuation of the SCUBA Explorers program: Buoyancy control is integral to scuba diving. Go underwater and discover the wonder of using both control of breath and equipment to achieve perfect buoyancy.  Once neutral buoyancy is achieved, skilled divers can practice how to manage their breath and equipment to move effortlessly through the water while protecting the environment from damage. Buoyancy control is important in every aspect of diving from the descent, throughout the exploration of the dive, and to completion of the dive with a safe and controlled ascent.

What To Do Before Class:

Participants must have already completed the introductory, three day SSI Scuba Explorers Program.  All waivers must be signed and there must be a current parent or guardian-signed waiver on file.

If it has been close or at least one year since last completed, please update the Diver Medical / Participant Questionnaire at: https://dolphinscuba.com/content/pdf/downloadable-forms/RSTC_MEDICAL_FORM.pdf

What to Expect In Class

There will be a classroom session where we will discuss the principles of buoyancy and learn how buoyancy control influences gas consumption, weighting, physical effort, and depth control especially during descents and ascents.

The classroom session will then be followed by an in-pool dive session where students will have the opportunity to practice the skills discussed in the classroom session and build on the skills they learned in previous classes.
