Description

The new ERGO Dry snorkel is designed for maximum performance both for scuba divers and snorkelers alike. From one end to the other, the ergonomic shape fits perfectly to the side of the head. A corrugated flex hose made using high quality silicone and features a snorkel keeper which can be adjusted in many positions. The mouthpiece is moulded in soft rubber for greater shock and wear resistance, also to properly host the exhaust valve. Exclusive engineering of the dry top (patented) and an ergonomically correct mouthpiece make this the ideal snorkel for scuba or for prolonged snorkeling sessions. The combination of the 100% dry top and an exhaust valve in the mouthpiece ensures a completely dry breathing environment.

Bought the black one. Works well, and seems to stay out of the way when not needed. Simple and easy to use.

This snorkel is made of top quality material and the price is well below the store price. This is dive shop quality gear.

      great snorkel

I like the Mares brand, and I bought this snorkel after trying a friends. I like to free dive but sometimes when I'm down for a long time, I get tired or don't have much breath left and clearing the snorkel while tired can be difficult. However, clearing this snorkel is easy. It is not a dry snorkel. I worry about those because if the little ball gets stuck then how are you going to breathe? You might prefer a semi-dry snorkel if out in big swells, as I have noticed that in rough water I take water in the top and if you are pushing off of something like a wall with your feet, you may submerge slightly and get some water in the top. No biggie, because its a breeze to purge, but just thought I would mention it because the item description doesn't go into that much detail. I have the black one, which is 100% opaque except for the purge valve. The item description says something about it having a clear tube, but that is only on some of the colors. I did replace the plastic clip that goes on your dive mask with a neoprene one because the clip caught my hair. It was an easy $3 improvement that I recommend if you have hair long enough to tie back.

      Awesomely simple, spastastic snork.

This product doesn't have a bunch of gimmicks and whoop-di-doos that will fail while you're out in the water. It's a simple snorkel with a purge valve. What else could you seriously want? By the way, the snorkel tube diameter is larger than most snorkels today. The larger diameter tube translates to better airflow. Buy it. You won't regret it.

      Odd mouthpiece, but otherwise good

Posted by Phil H - via Amazon on Jun 25th 2015

The snorkel has an atypical mouthpiece, which is larger in overall size than other snorkels. The plastic bite plate is also unusual, at least in my experience. The main airway is good and large, and it seems easy to clear. Overall, the snorkel is well constructed.
