React Right is SSI’s emergency first response course and provides you with the training and knowledge you need to act as a first responder in a medical emergency. In this flexible certification program, students will learn and apply First Aid, CPR, primary stabilization techniques, oxygen administration, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) application techniques. How to avoid, spot, assess, and respond to emergencies happening around and out of the water will also be covered. Students may participate in demonstrations and act through different scenarios. Using a combination of academic sessions and practical training scenarios, this program will give you the tools and confidence you need for emergency response. By the time you are certified, you will be able to act as an emergency first responder, provide first aid and CPR, administer oxygen and provide AED support in a medical emergency. During this session you will have the opportunity to ask any unanswered questions and will complete a written exam. After completing all course requirements, you will be certified as an SSI React Right Provider - a certification that will be valid for two years.
This course is not intended to replace a full-length Emergency Medical Instruction course (for EMT or higher qualifications).
Upon completion of this course, students will earn the SSI React Right Provider Specialty certification. This certification is valid for two years from date of issue.
The SSI React Right class is a pre-requisite for the SSI Stress and Rescue course. Save on your continuing education and ask us about bundling your React Right and Stress and Rescue courses!
