Description

Diver stress is a major cause of diving accidents, but it can easily be prevented and resolved! Sign up for the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty certification program and learn how to help yourself and other divers stay safe.
You can improve your diving confidence and enjoyment by learning to recognize, handle and prevent stress related situations. Recognizing stress, and dealing with it at an early stage, is a critical component for preventing diving accidents. Diving emergencies are usually the result of a series of small, escalating errors – rather than one large mistake – that require training and practice to recognize and correct. The goal of the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue program is to provide you with the in-depth knowledge, skills, and experience to quickly recognize and correct stressful and emergency situations in a variety of dive conditions and environments. You will learn how to identify stress, how to prevent accidents and be taught practical techniques to conduct rescues and provide emergency care. With a combination of pool and open water practice sessions, you will become well prepared and confident at handling emergency and rescue situations.
Upon completion of this course, students will earn the SSI Stress and Rescue Specialty certification.
