Sweet BCD
Very pleased with this new rig. Packs nicely in the carry-on bag that's included so it makes for a good travel BC. Once you're set up on your tank, getting into the water is very easy since the monprene components are tacky and don't move around at all. I find that, unlike other back inflate BCs, the trim weight pockets on the exterior of the cell, help to prevent pushing you face forward at the surface which is nice. However, there's quite a lot of lift on this BC so I didn't actually need to inflate completely to float. At depth, I barely felt it. Very comfortable. Held perfect buoyancy and trim, and again, it didn’t move around on my body at all. Once the dive was over, it was practically bone dry when we got back to the shop. The only think I didn’t’ realize prior to purchasing was that the rear dump is on the left rather than on the right. Not a huge deal, but never used one that had it on the left. I’m a big guy; 6’3” 250 and I fit into a Large perfectly, with room to grow or shrink. When compared to the Nighthawk, it’s only a couple hundred dollars more, you get the new ergonomic inflator hose, more streamlined, quick drying, modular components, easier to travel with and it comes with a travel bag. Well worth the extra investment in my opinion.
